Oh, black paper... where would I be without You?
I was almost on the brink of not doing it. When I formulated an idea of this picture in my head, I was like:
"Oh man, that sound cool! Yeah... that's not going to happen. It's way too complex for simple pencils, and my set of skills. There is just no way I can do it well. Not yet."
But then, the subject of the next FGE's "Magical Academy" popes up... and it happened to be: "Magic, charms and spells". Expecting waves of Twilights, Trixies and Princessesses, I really wanted to do something different, so I went back to that idea, and try my best to make it happen. And this time I can say, I'm happy with the result. There were some problems along the way, as there always are (those eyes took like a fifteen tries to get right), but I was surprised by how smoothly it went. It felt almost like as if She was doing half of the work for me.
Oh! And as a side-note. This time I almost wasn't using my watercolor pencils (except for horn and highlights in the eyes), only regular ones.
